Player Profile
Chad Venning is a powerful, back-to-the-basket big man who brings size, strength, and an old-school post presence to the paint. At 6'10" and 270 pounds, he’s a load on the block—using his frame to carve out deep position and finish through contact with soft touch and patience. Offensively, Venning is efficient around the rim, with a reliable jump hook, strong drop-step, and the ability to draw fouls and convert at the line. Defensively, he anchors the interior with his physicality and size, holding down the paint and making life difficult for opposing bigs. He’s a solid rim protector who alters shots and controls the glass, especially on the defensive end. His presence in the middle allows teammates to pressure the perimeter knowing they have a reliable anchor behind them. After transferring from Morgan State to St. Bonaventure, Venning has continued to elevate his game, proving himself as a dependable low-post scorer and interior enforcer. He’s the kind of center who brings toughness, consistency, and a no-nonsense attitude to the heart of any lineup.
